• Koreans Admired Song Hye Kyo For What She Did Today

Actor Song Hye Kyo and Seo Kyung Deok, a professor at Sungshin Women's University, joined forces to mark the March 1 Independence Movement Day.

Seo Kyung Deok, a professor at Sungshin Women's University, said on March 1, "We produced and donated 10,000 copies of our history story-San Francisco episode, a guide to the independence movement to the Korean Education Center in San Francisco, USA."

This guide was made as part of a campaign to donate the guide to the history of independence movements in Korea by cities around the world.

This is the seventh donation after Shanghai, Tokyo, Paris, and New York.

In particular, it was produced in Korean and English together, and introduces the history of the Korean independence movement in San Francisco, USA, to make it easy for anyone of all ages to understand.

The guide contains explanations such as Jang In Hwan and Jeon Myung Woon's will, Jang In Hwan's deathbed, the site of the Korean National Assembly, the site of the public association, and the Cypress Cemetery where many independence activists fell asleep.

Professor Seo said, "The influence of the Korean Wave has made foreigners interested in Korean history, and I wanted to inform overseas Koreans and international students of the history of the independence movement in San Francisco a little."

"The situation at the sites of the independence movement remaining overseas due to the COVID-19 incident is also not very good. The more we do this, the more attention we should pay," the professor added.

For the past 11 years, Song Hye Kyo and Professor Seo have donated Korean guides, Korean signboards, and relief works to historical sites of the Korean Independence Movement abroad whenever there is a historical anniversary.
