    In a Q4 2021 earnings interview, Sarandos was asked if there would be a second season of the world's most watched Netflix series 'The Squid Game'. "Of course," Sarandos said. "The squid game universe has just begun."

    Director Hwang Dong Hyeok, producer of 'Squid Game', predicted the production of season 2 in interviews, but this is the first time that Netflix CEO directly publicly announced the production plan.

    "There was a lot of pressure for the second season and it was loved so much," Hwang said in a past interview with the Associated Press. "So there's no choice."
