• tvN Shares Their Drama Lineup Plans For 2022

    tvN is raising the expectations of k-drama fans around the world by revealing the new drama lineup for 2022.

    In 2021, along with the extraordinary K-content craze around the world, tvN dramas also received love from fans. tvN, a famous drama company that produce K-contents, changed its slogan to 'No.1 K-contents channel, tvN for fun' last year, making its will to global acceleration and expanding its channel competitiveness and influence. According to a BPI (Brand Power Index) survey designed by CJ ENM in conjunction with an external research firm, tvN also ranked first among 59 brands in both the first and second half of 2021.

    In 2022, tvN's attempts to diversify genres will continue. This year's lineup includes a variety of genres such as melodrama, thriller, fantasy, human, and fusion historical drama, which is expected to satisfy the diverse tastes of viewers who are looking forward to tvN's lineup of 'Drama Masterpiece'.

    Here are the tvN drama lineup for 2022

    Ghost Doctor

    tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Ghost Doctor' (played by Kim Seon Sun/directed by Bu Seong Cheol/produced by Studio Dragon, Bone Factory). Cha Young Min (Rain) is a genius doctor, but he is arrogant and selfish. One day, he gets involved in an unexpected case. Because of the unexpected case, his spirit entered another doctor's body.

    These two doctors are complete opposites, having opposite personalities and medical abilities. 'Ghost Doctor', which premiered on January 3, is receiving favorable reviews for its harmonious synergy with the comical synergy of Jung Ji Hoon and Rain, the development that cannot take your eyes off of it, and the mysterious material of 'Ghost Doctor'.

     In the paid platform that integrates cable, IPTV, and satellite, it soared to an average of 6.7% and a maximum of 8.0% in the metropolitan area.

    Twenty-Five, Twenty-One

    The new Saturday and Sunday drama 'Twenty-Five, Twenty-One' (played by Kwon Do Eun/directed by Ji Hyeon Ji/produced by Hwa & Dam Pictures), is scheduled to premiere on February 12. The writer Kwon Do Eun and director Jung Ji Hyun will collaborate once again.

    Twenty-Five, Twenty-One was set in 1998. Kim Tae Ri and Nam Joo Hyuk will be the lead casts for this drama which tells the wanderings and growth of young people who have been deprived of their dreams by the times. 

    Kim Tae Ri, portrays the role of 'Na Hee Do', who is a fencing dreamer, said, "It was a person I had never met, and the fact that the sport fencing was the subject was very interesting for me ."

    While Joo Hyuk said, “It is a drama in which young people who have been deprived of their dreams suffer and grow together.  I fell in love with a character of a man full of responsibility."

    Kill Heel

    'Kill Heel' (play Shin Kwang Ho, Lee Chun Woo, directed by Noh Do Cheol, produced by Ubiculture, May Queen Pictures), recently released the script reading site, tells the endless desire and desperate struggle of three women at home shopping. A war drama without a single weapon of those who are blinded by success and jealousy will unfold in a high density. 

    Above all, the sparking smoke war between Kim Ha Neul, Lee Hye Young, and Kim Seong Ryeong adds spice raising expectations to watch the drama. Kim Ha Neul will portray the role of 'Woo Hyeon', who is aiming for a UNI home shopping top show host position with a wriggling desire, and Lee Hye Young, who is the vice president of UNI Home Shopping.

    Kim Seong Ryung portray the role of 'Peony', the main character of this myth and a bloody witch, and 'Ok Sun', a high-class from birth and a signboard show host at UNI Home Shopping. The combination of director Noh Do Cheol's directing ability and the writing skills of Shin Kwang Ho and Lee Chun Woo of the 'Prosecution Man and Woman' series are raising expectations.

    Military Prosecutor Doberman

    'Military Prosecutor Doberman' (played by Hyun Ho Yoon / Director Jin Chang Gyu / Produced by Studio Dragon), which drew attention with the casting of Ahn Bo Hyun and Jo Bo Ah, is a black high school in the military where Do Bae Man, who became a military prosecutor for money, and Cha Woo In, who became a military prosecutor for revenge, met. It tells the story of defeating rotten evil and growing into a real military swordsman.

    Ahn Bo Hyun portrays the role of 'Do Bae Man', who is a military prosecutor waiting only for the day he will take off his uniform, and Jo Bo Ah portrays the role of 'Cho Woo In', a new military prosecutor from the only daughter of a chaebol. 

    Writer Yoon Hyun Ho, who has written court articles such as the movie 'The Attorney' and the drama 'Lawless Lawyer', and director Jin Chang Gyu, who directed the dramas 'Bad Papa' and '10 O'Clock', collaborated.

    Our Blues

    On April 20, industry representatives reported that Lee Byung Hun, Cha Seung Won, Kim Woo Bin, Shin Min Ah, Han Ji Min, and Lee Jung Eun will be starring in writer Noh Hee Kyung’s upcoming drama “Our Blues” (literal title).

    Noh Hee Kyung is a critically acclaimed screenwriter known for dramas such as “That Winter, The Wind Blows,” “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” “Dear My Friends,” and “Live.” Back in 2019, Lee Byung Hun, Han Ji Min, Shin Min Ah, Bae Sung Woo, and Nam Joo Hyuk were confirmed for Noh Hee Kyung’s drama “HERE.” However, the project was put on hold due to COVID-19 as it required filming overseas, and Noh Hee Kyung began preparing “Our Blues.”

    It is a drama that depicts the sweet and bitter life of all those who stand at the end, climax, or beginning of life, and tells the stories of various people's lives in an omnibus format against the backdrop of warm and lively Jeju and the cold and rough sea.

    The Murderer's Shopping List

    Lee Kwang Soo, Kim Seol Hyun, and Jin Hee Kyung were the lead cast of the drama 'The Murderer's Shopping List' (played by Han Ji Wan/directed by Lee Eon Hee/planned by Studio Dragon/produced by Beyond J). 

    When a mysterious body was found near an apartment on the outskirts of Seoul, Daesung, an MS Mart intern run by his mother, Do A Hee, a police officer in the district police department, and Jeong Myung Sook, Daesung's mother, are based on a mart receipt.

    In the past, Lee Kwang Soo was a memorization genius, but now he plays the role of 'Ahn Dae Seong', the son of MS Mart's president, who has been failing the 9th grade civil service exam for 3 years.

    He portrays the role of 'Jung Myeong Suk', the president of a supermarket and the mother of Daesung.

    Shooting star

    'Shooting Star' (Screenplay: Youngwoo Choi/Director Soohyun Lee/Producer Studio Dragon, Mace Entertainment) means 'shooting star' means 'the employees of the celebrities who clean up the poop of the celebreties', to make them shine from behind the stars like the stars in the sky.

    It is a romantic comedy telling the real story of people who shed blood, sweat and tears. Lee Sung Kyung and Kim Young Dae were the main cast. In the drama, Lee Sung Kyung portrays the role of Oh Han Byeol, the manager of the public relations team, and Kim Young Dae portrays the role of Gong Tae Seong, a management star who fights with Oh Han Byeol, the public relations team leader.

    It is expected to provide a sense of fun and immersion by realistically telling the stories of those who are at the forefront of the entertainment industry, including managers, public relations teams, and reporters.

    It is a fantasy melodrama and an interesting human mystery drama in which a man who falls in love feels all her joys, sorrows, and pains together. Yeo Jin Goo portrays the role of Eun Gye Hoon, a chef at a high-end restaurant, while Moon Ga Young portrays the role of Park Bok Han as Noh Da Hyun, a job seeker. 

    Director Hong Jong Chan, who created a realistic worldview with 'Dear My Friends' and 'Life', and writer Kwon Ki Young, who showed the charm of a script that goes back and forth between romance and mystery, such as 'Suspicious Partner' and 'All About My Love', collaborated.

    Adamas (working title)

    Ji Sung, Seo Ji Hye, and Lee Su Kyung announced their appearance in 'Adamas (working title)' (played by Choi Tae-kang/directed by Park Seung-woo/produced by Studio Dragon, Mace Entertainment). 

    A story about twin brothers fighting a great evil hidden behind the truth of an incident happened 22 years ago in order to clear the frame of their biological father who killed their stepfather. Ji Sung is a twin brother and plays two roles. 

    The best-selling mystery novel writer Ha Woo Shin and Song Su Hyeon, a prosecutor in the special division of the Central District Prosecutors' Office, are expected to play the story of two brothers with an impact. 

    Seo Ji Hye plays the role of Hye Soo, the wife of Haesong Group's eldest son, who is an assistant to Hae Song, and Lee Soo Kyung plays the role of Kim Seo Hee, a reporter from the social affairs department who hides a secret from her twin brothers.

    Little Women

    'Little Women' (Written by Jeong Seo Kyung / Directed by Kim Hee Won / Produced by Studio Dragon) depicts the story of three sisters who are poor but grow up amicably against the richest and most powerful family in Korea. Writer Jeong Seo Gyeong, who wrote the movies 'The Handmaiden' and 'Mr. Kind Venus' and the drama 'Mother', and director Kim Hee Won, who directed 'Vincenzo' and 'The Man Who Became King', announced their participation.

    The combination raises expectations. Kim Go Eun portrays the role of Oh In Joo, the first daughter who wants to protect her family with money, Nam Ji Hyun plays the second daughter Oh In Kyung, who does not want to sell her soul for money, and Park Ji Hoo plays the role of the third daughter Oh In Kyung, who struggles with the love of her two older sisters. It is scheduled to premier in the second half of the year.

    Actor Lee Min Ho recently shared an unforgettable and embarrassing moment from his early career, revealing how he became a “falling star” at his first Baeksang Arts Awards.

    On the December 25th episode of You Quiz on the Block (Episode 274), Lee Min Ho made a guest appearance and reflected on his rise to fame.

    The actor, known for his iconic role as Goo Jun Pyo in Boys Over Flowers, won the Best New Actor award at the Baeksang Arts Awards, but it wasn’t just his victory that grabbed attention.

    Lee Min Ho recalled, "I was attending the Baeksang for the first time, and I was so excited. Since I wasn’t going as Goo Jun Pyo, but as Lee Min Ho, I styled my hair in a perm and was ready to go." However, things took an unexpected turn when he tripped and fell on the red carpet.

    He sighed, recalling, "That day, I fell. I fell and created so many memes. Even now, I look back and think, 'How did I walk that quickly on the red carpet?'"

    Laughing at his own clumsiness, he admitted, "I was moving at the speed of light, no composure, no focus. Honestly, more than the joy of winning the award, that day was chaotic and so embarrassing for me."

    Though his win was a highlight, Lee Min Ho humorously shared that the incident of tripping overshadowed the excitement of his achievement.
