Actor Oh Young Soo won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor.

At the American Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles on January 9th, actor Oh Young Soo was selected as the recipient of the Best Supporting Actor award.

Oh Young Soo was nominated along with Billy Crudup and Mark Duplass for 'The Morning Show', Kieran Culkin for 'Succession' and Baruch Goldstein for 'Ted Lasso'.

Oh Young Soo was honored with the Best Supporting Actor award, beating out prominent nominees.

It is the first time for a Korean actors to be nominated for a Golden Globe, and Oh Young Soo also became the first Korean to receive the Best Supporting Actor award.

On the other hand, 'Squid Game' depicts a story of risking one's life to challenge the game to become the final winner in a mysterious survival game with a prize money of 45.6 billion won.

'Squid Game' was nominated in three categories: Best Picture in TV Drama, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor.

While the Golden Globe Awards have been criticized for their white-dominated membership, sexism controversy, and internal corruption, this year's Hollywood is receiving a massive boycott. Therefore, 'Squid Game' director Hwang Dong Hyeok, Lee Jung Jae, and Oh Young Soo also did not attend the awards ceremony.
