• 5 K-Dramas With Contents That Are Different To Their Titles

Our Beloved Summer, Snowdrop, Happiness,… are Korean dramas with contents that are different from their titles.

    Our Beloved Summer

Our Beloved Summer” is a comedy romance drama following the story of young people's first love, which is unfolding when they are forcibly summoned back together due to the popularity of a documentary they filmed together in high school.

The leads in the drama are award-winning actor, Choi Woo Shik and "monster rookie" actress, Kim Da Mi.

Our Beloved Summer gives off the vibes of a coming of age romantic comedy. The first 2 episodes are actually quite funny, but in the latter 3 episodes, how the story of the two main characters unfolds makes the viewers cry.

Is this turning into a melodrama?

    Happiness

Happiness” is a new normal city thriller that depicts the lives of those isolated in an apartment, a miniature version of a hierarchical society, set in the near future.

The leads in the drama are Park Hyung Sik, Han Hyo Joo, and Jo Woo Jin.

Until the final episode, many viewers still struggle to understand why a series about the zombie apocalypse is called Happiness.

The whole drama is filled with terror, intense chases, battles to survive and death. It takes fans 12 episodes to finally get a sweet kiss from Park Hyung SikHan Hyo Joo.

From zombies to serial killers, the drama is not so “happy” like its name.

    Sweet Home

Sweet Home” is based on a popular thriller-horror webtoon of the same name. It joined the numerous dramas of 2020 based on webtoon. The drama will be violent and bloody and may not be watchable by everyone.

As savage monsters start to wipe out humanity, the residents of an apartment complex have to fight to survive.

Sweet Home is another post-apocalyptic series of the horror genre that gets a sweet and peaceful name, making the viewers think of a romantic drama.

    Age Of Youth

Age Of Youth is a series about a group of college friends that was quite successful in 2017.

The film is introduced as a story about the youth of young girls, who are optimistic, humorous and cheerful.

But in fact, Age Of Youth has quite dark content with many plot twists that give the audience goosebumps.

    Snowdrop

"Snowdrop" is one of the most looked forward dramas of 2021.

It is the desperate love story set in Seoul in 1987 of Su Ho, a student from a prestigious university who suddenly appeared covered with blood in the women's dormitory, and Young Cho, a university student who hid and treated him in this crisis.

Snowdrop evokes a sad love story with a tragic ending.  But as the producer assures the public, Snowdrop is a dark comedy and in fact the first two episodes are also quite funny.

In recent episodes, Snowdrop has seemed like an action, detective, and even horror drama.  Currently, the contents of Snowdrop are still relatively obscure.

During the broadcast, she revealed that negative online comments had deeply affected her. "I used to cry all the time reading comments. I get hurt easily. What might be a small wound for others feels like a huge blow to me," she shared, expressing the stress she faced from malicious remarks.

She also admitted that at one point, she wanted to leave everything behind. "I kept thinking, ‘How long do I have to keep working this hard?’ and it became overwhelming."
